Jensen Nursery and Garden Center 

Jensen Nursery was founded by Kurt Jensen in 1966. Kurt immigrated from Denmark to Canada in 1957, where he met and married Elsie. They started a small lawn maintenance company out of their home in River Heights. The business rapidly grew to become a residential and commercial landscaping company.

By this point in time, Tammy and Susan, Kurt and Elsie’s daughters, were deeply involved with the business. With the new garden center open, the business continued to grow and expand. In the spring of 2005 a brand new three acre location was opened on the corner of McGillivray Blvd and Brady Road. This new facility has contributed to Jensen’s Garden Center becoming a major garden center, greenhouse and landscaping business in the City of Winnipeg and surrounding areas.ompany. In 1971 they bought a property on McGillivray Blvd and expanded the business to include a retail garden center and greenhouse. The garden center r
apidly grew over the next two decades. By the late 90's it was decided that a larger facility was required to better serve the growing community. In the spring of 1999 a newly expanded garden center and greenhouse was opened.

In 2010 Jensen Nursery launched it's first website. Over the next 2 years the site has grown considerably! Tammy decided that a online store was needed to service out of town relatives wanting to buy gift cards for local residents. The idea rapidly grew to become a giftware and gift card store. The store launched in May of 2013 and started with 51 items to sell! Plans are to continue to expand the selection of available products on a weekly basis!
